Longfield Academy Parents Council

The Longfield Academy Parents Council has been formed to support the development of the Academy and planning of the new buildings that are due for completion in 2010.

Meetings start at 7.00pm and end 8.30pm prompt. Please email for more information about meetings.

The next meeting is Thursday 25th March at 7.00pm in the House on the Academy site.

TERMS OF REFERENCE

  • To work with Staff / Governors / Sponsors to develop and implement the vision for the Academy.
  • Through sub-committees, engage in a wide range of initiatives related to the progress of the Academy to help develop work areas around such as education, buildings and school Issues
  • To provide a forum for all parents/carers to engage with the development of the Academy
  • To influence the ethos and design of Longfield Academy
  • To provide parental representation on the Academies Trust Governing Body

The group is made up of elected parent/carers and there will be a new election in September 2009.

We recognise that not all parents/carers can be involved but would encourage dialogue and contact through the parent's council e-mail either on the Academy website or through the link parents@longfieldacademy.org. This is directed to the Secretary of the group who will ensure a response.

All minutes and meeting dates will be posted on the Academy's website and any parent/carer is welcome to attend the open meetings as published, which are held at the Academy.

Our overall aim is to secure the best for all at Longfield Academy and ensure that the ethos and atmosphere of the school is captured in the new build.
